Hellmuth & Johnson is pleased to announce that attorney Charlie A. Gustafson (they/them/theirs) has joined the firm as an associate in the Family Law practice group.
Gustafson’s practice focuses on divorce, custody and parenting time, child support, spousal maintenance, third-party custody, domestic abuse, post-decree matters, LGBTQ+ family law, and other areas of family law. Before joining the firm, they served as a judicial law clerk in Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District for three years. From this experience, they gained unique insight into different judicial styles of conducting hearings, making decisions, drafting orders, and managing cases. Gustafson Co-Chairs the Minnesota Lavender Bar Association, is an Education Committee Member for the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts – Minnesota Division, and is a member of the Family Law League, National LGBT Bar Association, National Trans Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association Family Law Section, Hennepin County Bar Association, and Twin Cities Quorum.
Gustafson obtained their J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and B.A. from University of Minnesota – Duluth. They are admitted to practice in Minnesota State Courts.
