Hellmuth & Johnson Expands Litigation Practice with Addition of Attorneys Brenda Sauro and Brock Alton

Hellmuth & Johnson has announced that attorneys Brenda M. Sauro and Brock P. Alton, formerly of the law firm Sauro & Alton, PLLC, joined the firm, effective January 1, 2025. Brenda Sauro and Brock Alton join as partners in the firm’s litigation practice group, primarily focusing on construction defects and first-party claims. In addition, the combination brings an experienced staff of three professionals.

Brenda Sauro has more than 30 years of litigation experience and a proven track record of success. She represents clients in both Minnesota and Wisconsin with complex litigation matters, where she has achieved notable verdicts, judgments, appraisal awards, and settlements. She centers her practice on assisting associations and commercial and residential property owners with construction defect and insurance disputes ranging from fire, to storm, to collapse. She also handles cases involving partnership disputes, elder financial abuse, contract claims, and real estate non-disclosure. She received her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Wyoming, and is licensed to practice in Minnesota and Wisconsin state and federal courts.

Brock Alton represents homeowners, associations, and business owners in a variety of insurance disputes. Most of those claims focus on property losses, including storm damage, fire losses, water damage, collapse, mold claims, theft losses, and other complex claims. Similarly, he has experience in construction litigation, having represented both builders and homeowners for 18 years. He holds extensive experience at both the trial and appellate court levels, including at the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. He received his J.D. from William Mitchell School of Law and his B.A. from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is licensed to practice in Minnesota and Wisconsin federal and state courts.
