Effective January 24, 2019, Hellmuth & Johnson attorney Michael Klemm officially began his term as the 2019 Chair of the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce.
The mission of the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce is to represent the Shakopee business community through advocacy, membership programming and economic development. The Chamber’s membership programming offers many opportunities for networking, education, and leadership development.
Michael has strong ties to the Shakopee community, where he has lived since 2001. He has served as both a member and chair on several City of Shakopee boards and commissions including the Environmental Advisory Committee, the Planning Commission, and the Board of Adjustment & Appeals.
In 2019, Michael will lead the Shakopee Chamber Board of Directors as they focus on four main strategic goals:
- Ensuring the growth of the Chamber through ongoing membership development and a focus on Return On Investment (ROI)
- Representing the business community and serving as a voice of business through public policy and advocacy
- Strengthening tourism and economic development to enhance the overall marketplace with a focus on Downtown Shakopee, an accredited Main Street Program that is revitalizing the downtown district
- Positioning the Chamber for excellence through leadership development
