Chris Grecian is a litigator with experience representing clients ranging from individuals to multinational corporations in their litigation disputes. Chris always aims to help his clients resolve disputes prior to the commencement of litigation, but remains ready to forcefully litigate his clients cases when it becomes necessary. His clients appreciate his responsiveness, attentiveness, and efficiency in working with them on their cases.

Chris has experience litigating asset purchase agreements, software licensing agreements, commercial loans, commercial leases, partnership agreements, franchise agreements, restrictive covenants, settlement agreements, consulting/other service agreements, and various other contracts. He also has experience litigating business torts (fraud, defamation, interference with prospective business advantage, etc.) and Minnesota statutory claims.

Chris joins Hellmuth & Johnson after 17 years of litigating business and commercial disputes at several other Minneapolis and St. Paul area law firms.

Chris earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois-Chicago and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota. Before that, he served more than six years in the United States Navy as a nuclear-trained Machinist Mate, including four years onboard the submarine USS San Francisco (SSN-771). Chris is licensed to practice law in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.

  • Game Time Bar & Grill vs. IHG Development, LLC – obtained voluntary dismissal of Plaintiff’s complaint for damages arising from a proposed commercial asset purchase agreement.
  • Boundary Waters Bank vs. RSND, LLC ­­– obtained judgment on behalf of a creditor owed over $1 million on a commercial loan.
  • Staffing Specifix vs. TempWorks Software – obtained verdict in client’s favor on claims of defamation in business torts dispute.
  • Staffing Specific vs. TempWorks Software – obtained verdict in client’s favor on breach of contract claims against software and funding provider.
  • Neo Ivy Capital Management LLC v. SavvySherpa LLC and United Healthcare Services – obtained an order compelling production of documents from UnitedHealth pursuant to a subpoena issued by an out of state arbitrator.
  • Platinum Management, LLC vs. Ellis Corp. – successfully defended against opposing party’s motion for summary judgment on its claims for breach of consulting services contract.
  • 12345 Portland Building, LLC vs. C & L Communications, Inc. – Resolved matter on favorable terms for client in a dispute for damages arising out of a breach of a commercial lease agreement.
  • Bjorklund vs. Bjorklund Trucking, Inc.– obtained favorable trial result for client in dispute over control of land and assets related to a family run business.
