Colman negotiates technology agreements on behalf of companies ranging from startups to multinational corporations. Representing both vendors and acquirers of technology solutions, Colman distills complex issues to help his clients mitigate risk and enter business relationships on favorable terms. He has extensive experience negotiating a wide range of technology agreements including cloud computing agreements, software development agreements, MSAs, ESAs, NDAs, software licenses, Data Processing Agreements, and SAAS agreements. Colman regularly advises clients on various information security, data protection and privacy issues including GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA compliance.
Colman also assists clients in protecting their brands through the registration of trademarks at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, sending and responding to demand letters, enforcing rights against third parties in state and federal courts and tribunals. He also represents clients in cancellation and opposition proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Colman earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin. He is licensed to practice in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
