Hellmuth & Johnson is pleased to announce attorney Kurt M. Mitchell has rejoined the firm as a partner in the litigation group. He had previously been with the firm 2008-2019.
Mitchell focuses his practice primarily on civil litigation, including construction defects, construction law, mechanic’s liens, business and commercial law, insurance coverage, first party insurance claims, real estate, and design professionals. He assists clients by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts – including construction contracts for general contractors, subcontractors and property owners, and contracts for the provision of architectural and engineering services. With more than 30 years of trial experience, and has successfully handled disputes in various state courts, federal courts, and arbitrations.
Mitchell attained his J.D. from Willamette University College of Law and his B.A. from Pomona College. He is licensed to practice in Minnesota, Montana, and Oregon State Courts, and the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. In 2022 Mitchell was named to the Minnesota Super Lawyers® list; only five percent of attorneys in Minnesota are chosen each year.
