Edina, MN – Hellmuth & Johnson, PLLC announced that Scott M. Nelson has joined the firm as a Partner in the estate planning practice area. This new addition makes a total of 43 attorneys for Hellmuth & Johnson.
Scott M. Nelson joined Hellmuth & Johnson in January 2014. Nelson brings over 27 years of experience providing legal counsel to individuals and closely held businesses in the areas of tax, business, and estate planning. He is licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin, concentrating in business succession planning, coordinated estate planning for complex estates, and advising all types of families on transfer of assets, as well as legacy and philanthropic planning. Scott has been inducted into the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, showing both dedication and advancement in the estate planning practice area. He is chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association Probate and Trust Section Council, worked as a former chair of its legislation committee, and has frequently appeared as an expert witness in trust and estate matters. Nelson is also a licensed CPA in the state of Minnesota.
