A Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal panel discussion on mergers and acquisitions featured Hellmuth & Johnson attorney Alec Sherod among other M&A experts. The panel explored 2025 economic conditions, deal structures, private equity trends, and acquisition integration challenges.
Sherod provided valuable insights on middle-market transactions, noting increased private equity involvement in smaller deals and predicting a return of larger transactions. He also highlighted the growing prevalence of representation and warranty insurance in the lower-middle market.
“Private equity is going to increasingly be a seller in 2025. They have sat on a lot of assets over the last couple years, as things have tightened up,” Sherod observed.
