Hellmuth & Johnson attorney Vadim Trifel has secured a jury trial win for his client who was wrongfully sued by his former employer after he started his own business. Trifel obtained summary judgment for his client on his counterclaims of breach of contract and non-payment of wages. Next he obtained judgment as a matter of law on the employer’s claim of violation of the Minnesota Uniform Trade Secrets Act, leaving only three of the original eight claims and counterclaims to reach the jury. Following a four-day trial, it took the jury less than one hour to reach their verdict.
“While virtual hearings and trials are expeditious, they may miss some important elements that are apparent from face-to-face interaction,” Trifel stated. “I am very happy for my client that the jury in this case so quickly saw the truth.”
