Phaedra J. Howard has been recognized by Minnesota Lawyer as 2024 “Top Women in Law” honoree. This award celebrates the outstanding achievements of women in the legal community in Minnesota, recognizing the attorneys who have become leaders in their practice areas and are instrumental to their companies’ success. Honorees were selected based on the core principles of leadership, professionalism, accomplishment, and passion for making a difference.
Howard serves as a partner in the firm’s Real Estate and Homeowner Association practice groups. She provides legal advice and representation on a wide variety of issues affecting a broad range of entities, including condominium, townhouse, cooperative, and other community associations. She also represents property owners, landlords, property managers and others on various issues involving real estate. She has been a Minnesota State Bar Association Board Certified Real Property Law Specialist since 2012, a significant accomplishment, as fewer than 3% of licensed attorneys in Minnesota are certified as specialists in their field by the Minnesota State Bar Association. She serves on the Minnesota Common Interest Ownership Act (“MCIOA”) committee of the MN Bar Association and was named to the Best Lawyers in America® list for Real Estate, 2021-2025. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Minnesota Legislative Action Committee for the Community Associations Institute, sits on several other committees within the Minnesota chapter, and has served in various similar leadership roles throughout her career.
Earlier this year, Howard was granted fellowship in the College of Community Association Lawyers (CCAL). More than 4,000 lawyers practice community association law in the United States, yet fewer than 175 attorneys nationwide can distinguish themselves as CCAL fellows. This recognition is the highest level of service to the practice of community association law. Most notably, she is the only lawyer in the state of Minnesota to hold this distinction.to hold this distinction.
