On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, Attorney David Hellmuth gave a presentation on Minnesota contract for deed transactions. Many folks are not aware that they can sell their real estate to a buyer using a contract for deed. Many buyers are also not aware of the option of proposing a contract for deed to a seller. A contract for deed is a form of seller financing, where the buyer and seller set the terms of the financing arrangement and then record a contract for deed with the local county recorder or registrar of deeds.
Due to significant increases in interest rates offered by banks, mortgage companies, and other financial institutions, contracts for deed have recently become a popular method of financing real estate transactions.
