Dove Healthcare, a Wisconsin-based rehabilitation, senior living, and nursing care provider, recently provided notice letters confirming it had suffered a data breach on or about July 6, 2024, in which a ransomware attack allowed cybercriminals to gain access to or acquire and expose approximately 16,255 legal wards’ sensitive personal information maintained on its networks. Dove Healthcare commenced an investigation and engaged an external cybersecurity expert that confirmed that the data incident had indeed occurred and exposed highly sensitive personal information.
The highly sensitive personal information that was compromised in the data breach has yet to be fully disclosed to the public, however, individual notification letters mailed by Dove Healthcare state the exact types of information involved.
Recognizing the seriousness of the data breach, Dove Healthcare is offering credit monitoring services at no charge if the affected individuals enroll within 90 days from the date on the data breach notice letter. Dove Healthcare has also indicated that it has taken additional precautions to further safeguard the privacy of the protected personal information it continues to maintain.
