Attorney at Law

“I believe in being accessible, putting in the work, and always doing things the right way — that’s what clients can expect from me.”

Jacob R. Goetz

Jacob Goetz is an attorney at Hellmuth & Johnson, where his practice focuses on construction law and real estate litigation. He previously practiced workers’ compensation defense, representing employers and insurers from the initiation of litigation through appellate work, and is now looking to grow his experience in construction and real estate matters.

Before entering the law, Jacob also spent nearly a decade as a medical claim specialist with a large insurance company, where he evaluated claims for fraud and coverage issues, conducted investigations, and reviewed medical records, legal correspondence, and insuring agreements. That experience sharpened his investigative instincts and his ability to interpret policy language, ultimately drawing him to the legal profession.

Jacob earned his J.D., cum laude, from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where he received CALI Awards in Negotiation and Energy Law and made the Dean’s List for four consecutive semesters. He holds a B.S. in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. He is admitted to practice in the Minnesota State Courts.

Outside the office, Jacob enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending sporting events, and visiting local breweries. He can also often be found at home playing the latest video game or researching fantasy football strategies.
