Hellmuth & Johnson Announces the Integration of Eight New Attorneys

Marshall Tanick , Earl Cohen and Denise Y. Tataryn, previously with the firm Mansfield Tanick & Cohen P.A. will be integrating their successful practices into the Edina-based law firm Hellmuth & Johnson as of October 1, 2012.  In addition to Tanick and Cohen, attorneys, Teresa J. Ayling, Brian N. Niemczyk, Steven V. Rose, KrisAnn Norby-Jahner, and Brian Christiansen (who will be admitted to the bar in October) will also be joining Hellmuth & Johnson.  With the addition of these eight attorneys, Hellmuth & Johnson will have a total of 47 lawyers.

These eight attorneys have established a national reputation for innovative legal services, including ground breaking class actions, employment and Constitutional law, disability insurance, business, financial and estate planning and probate matters, along with Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and civil litigation.

After adding these eight lawyers, Hellmuth & Johnson will be licensed to practice in numerous jurisdictions, including Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, California and Iowa.  The new Hellmuth & Johnson lawyers also bring to the firm innovative new programs and practice areas, such as its women’s entrepreneurship program to encourage women to start, develop, and maintain businesses.

Hellmuth & Johnson, PLLC, founded in 1994 has grown to be one of Minnesota’s top 25 law firms.  The firm offers an array of legal services with a focus on clients in the construction, real estate, financial, technology and medical industries.  Hellmuth & Johnson is committed to continuing growth.  In addition to the eight attorneys, support personal will also be a part of the integration bringing the total number of lawyers to 47 and a total staff in excess of 100.

“We view this integration as increasing our firm’s ability to provide a wider spectrum of legal services, efficiently and economically,” said Blake Nelson, the managing partner of Hellmuth & Johnson, PLLC, who will remain in that position after the integration.  “We are pleased to be adding this group of outstanding attorneys, with well-established legal practices and reputations.  Our existing group of attorneys complements well with these eight new professionals and we think that our respective clients will benefit greatly from combining our personnel.”

“This is a great move for us and for Hellmuth & Johnson,” said Earl H. Cohen, previously the managing shareholder of Mansfield, Tanick & Cohen, P.A.  “It will allow our lawyers to expand the legal services available to our clients, while giving us the opportunity to work with some very expert and talented individuals.”

Hellmuth & Johnson’s headquarters are in its new building in Edina, near the intersection of Highways 494 and 169).  As of October 1, Hellmuth & Johnson will operate satellite offices in St. Paul and, for a short time, St. Louis Park.
