Banking, Finance & Workouts
Seeing the big picture is a huge advantage. Our Minneapolis-based banking and financial lawyers not only know banking and finance law, they understand how it applies in business, real estate and the other areas where you make your money. That’s how we bring value; not by duplicating what you know, but by adding our knowledge so that you can meet every legal challenge effectively and confidently.
In matters of banking, finance and loan workouts, our lawyers know Minnesota law to a tee – from preparing loan documents for commercial and residential loan transactions, to evictions and receivership litigation, and everything in between. Hellmuth & Johnson has extensive experience representing state and federally chartered institutions of all sizes, along with asset-based lenders, finance companies and mortgage lenders. Our clients include mortgage originators and financial services companies, who we represent against claims brought by lenders for indemnification and demands for mortgage repurchases or “buy-backs.”
We also serve borrowers – including individuals and businesses – in commercial loans and credit transactions. Our work includes document negotiation and preparation, ongoing legal counseling, and representation of banks and other financial institutions in employment matters, insurance claims, construction defect matters and many other areas where business and legal interests intersect.
Our financial and banking attorneys are not limited to their primary practice areas. By collaborating within the firm, our legal team has experience with multiple practice areas and access to Hellmuth & Johnson’s collective resources spanning all of our practice areas, including litigation, construction, real estate, emerging business and more. Our ability to work across departmental lines is a distinct asset – accessible to our clients every day.
