Heidi Bassett is a tough litigator and a trusted advisor representing clients throughout Minnesota and Florida. She is adept at balancing her clients’ legal needs with corporate objectives and financial realities. Heidi’s clients span a broad range of industries, including transportation, construction, hospitality and banking. She also represents clients in corporate dissolution and probate disputes. Prior to joining the firm, Heidi established herself as a leader in business and banking litigation throughout Florida. She is an experienced trial attorney and has represented clients in more than 200 appeals.

- Won summary judgment defeating claims of trespass, civil theft, conversion and deceptive trade practices
- Won summary judgment in favor of client on claims arising from Minnesota’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act and obtained permanent injunction to prevent future attempts to divert client’s business
- Successfully defended judgment of specific performance on appeal
- Won summary judgment for client on claims arising from corporate governance dispute while defeating allegations of theft from a nonprofit corporation
- Won reversal of harassment restraining order on appeal
- Successfully negotiated the settlement of a dispute between real estate developers in furtherance of the Minneapolis 2040 plan
- Won court approval for prejudgment garnishment of funds without notice by proving likelihood that debtor was assigning, secreting or disposing of funds to avoid paying creditor
- Successfully negotiated buyout of corporate shares in avoidance of impending litigation
- Represented financial institutions in state and federal court litigation with a focus on foreclosure, credit cards and regulatory compliance
- Testified and consulted as attorney fee expert in Florida state courts
