Mary B. Rannells Rowan
Mary Rannells Rowan joined Hellmuth & Johnson as an associate with a focus in Family Law. Mary believes in settling a case before full litigation is necessary. She is committed to reaching an outcome that benefits her clients and all affected parties, including any children that are involved. Mary is also able to act as a mediator and early neutral evaluator. Mary’s work experience also includes paternity/custody matters, modifications of support, grandparents’ rights, third party custody claims, orders for protection, harassment restraining orders, prenuptial agreements, and adoptions. She is pleased to be able to offer a broad range of services, and appreciates working in a variety of areas of family law.
It is Mary’s hope to help clients (and their children) during a period of extreme change, grief and loss to come out the other side still able to be the best they can be, as parents, individually, financially, and personally. She prides herself on working to find the best settlement possible, and when necessary litigating to achieve that best outcome all while advising clients on knowing and understanding the differences between those two options for resolution and closure and their chances of success with each.
Mary obtained her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she also received her B.A. in journalism and mass communication. She was on the Dean’s List while in law school and was a Presidential Scholar during her undergrad. Mary is an active member of her Dakota County community, where she serves on the Westview Elementary PTO in Apple Valley and is a Girl Scout leader. She is also dedicated to volunteering through clinics at Legal Assistance of Dakota County and the Scott County Library Family Law Clinic/Volunteer Lawyers Network.
